Golf trip and nature experience: discover Thailand's oldest national park!

If you are looking for a unique combination of golf and breathtaking nature, Khao Yai National Park is the perfect destination. A few hours from Bangkok, this impressive park covers an area of 2,172 km² and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005. In the surrounding area, you can not only play on some beautiful golf courses, but also explore an absolute natural paradise. The oldest national park in Thailand impresses with picturesque landscapes, lush rainforests and beautiful waterfalls. The most famous waterfall is the 25m high Nam Tok Haew Suwat, which was even featured in the well-known movie 'The Beach'. Another highlight is the largest waterfall in the park, Nam Tok Haew Narok, which is located in the southern part of the park.

The wildlife in Khao Yai National Park is also very diverse. Around 200 elephants, tigers, bears and leopards live there. The chance of seeing one of these wild animals is very small. However, on a safari or a tour lasting several days with a guide, the chances are somewhat better, as the guides are much quicker to spot the wild animals. Monkeys, crocodiles, snakes, scorpions and various bird species can be seen more regularly. The Bat Cave is particularly fascinating. As soon as the sun goes down, countless bats leave their cave and you can watch this natural spectacle live. With a guide and a flashlight, you can enter the cave and watch the sleeping bats while the guide tells you more about the caves and bats.

There are numerous hiking trails in Khao Yai National Park that lead through the breathtaking landscape. You can even explore some routes without a guide, but this is not recommended as some tourists have already got lost and had to spend the night in the park unprepared. With an experienced guide, you will not only discover nature more intensively, but also learn more about the park and the animals.

The park can be visited all year round, although the paths are a little slippery in the rainy season from May to October. The best time for hiking is between November and February. It is also recommended to avoid the park at weekends or during vacations as it can be quite crowded.

You can easily combine this trip with a few rounds of golf. There are several renowned golf courses near the park that offer both challenging and relaxing rounds of golf. Here are some of the best courses in the area:
